Ugh...tummy bug!

I am 3 weeks post-op today and will likely not be eating Thanksgiving dinner. On Sunday I got very nauseous and could not eat or drink. That night I had horrible diarrhea for 8 straight hours, every 15 minutes. I felt a bit better, just exhausted, on Monday but still didn't eat more than a sandwich all day. Tuesday I went to work and felt like I had something in the pit of my stomach. I came home and by 6pm the diarrhea started and went on until 6:30 this morning. Every time I drink water or an electrolyte drink back to the bathroom I go. My hubby wants to take me to the ER for an IV bag. Ack

Re: Ugh...tummy bug!

You might want to check to see if you are dehydrated. One way is to pinch the skin at the back of your hand and if it stays standing up, then you need to listen to your hubby. You need to be very careful with electrolytes and dehydration as it can cause hallucination. I saw it happen in a family member and it was scary. Please keep us posted.

Re: Ugh...tummy bug!

I had the flu this week too. Was so scared cause I was also wretching trying to vomit with the runs and so scared I was going to busy open stitches again . I came out of first surgery 6 wks ago wretching and ended up bleeding internally losing 1/3 of my blood and back on surgery two days later with blood transfusions all day ,
Hope u feel better .. As if recovering from this isn't enough huh?
