discharge/pain

Had my surgery Monday the 16th. Had TAh both tubes one ovary and bladder and bowel lift due to prolapse. The pain is insane I feel like I have the Shiggles. Its a bad burning pain. Now I have noticed I have a foul smell. The Dr said it would be a few weeks of dischage and maybe a bad smell. It almost like a old blood kinda smell. Im not bleeding heavy just spotting everyonce and a while. Anyone else have this problem. I hate to keep calling and to go to his office is a 2 hour drive. That was hell in its self coming home.

Re: discharge/pain

I had TAH, removal of everything except one ovary. Had burning pain at the incision as well as bleeding/spotting/foul smell for a couple of weeks. Now I spot some days, but the smell is gone. I am 4 weeks post-op. The burning at the incision still happens off and on. It's the nerves regenerating, I've been told.

Where is your burning pain?

Re: discharge/pain

The smell, unless it's fishy, is normal, fortunately, even if it is kind of disturbing. The discharge is, too. It goes from pink to brown, brown to pink, then, sometimes, you'll bleed quick, like a gush, and it starts over again. The pain is what you need to be concerned about, but, you really did go through some traumatic surgery (as we all have), and unless it's excruciating and pain meds don't help, some pain for a while is normal, too. Take it easy, and watch for symptoms of something wrong: heavy bleeding that fills more than a pad an hour, fever, etc. There's plenty of info here for you, and many women with a LOT of knowledge and experience. I, too, wanted to call my doctor over EVERY thing... I wish you luck, take care of yourself, get lots of rest and follow your doctor's orders to the T, and recovery will go smoothly!

Re: discharge/pain

the pain is on the left side where my ovary was. It feels like a burning pain. My insiscion sight really hasnt casued me much pain. I was told it was nerve pain too. Its overwhelming to the point I dont want to move. I know I sound like a wuss at times but I really just didnt expect this amount of pain. I had three large babies with no meds. Im a tough gal. I hope it passes soon. I feel lost not being able to do for my husband and children.
