8 days post op Laparoscopic hysterectomy

I am new to this thread. I just had my Laproscopic total with one ovary left. This past three days have been horrible for me. I am in the worst pain today to where I have been in tears. My whole lower abdomin is swollen as well as my vagina. I have been having urinary issues as well. I am not sure if this has anything to do with the fact that my period would have started during this time. Would it cause this much pain? Is it normal to still be in pain? I feel so lost not sure if I should go to the ER or not and just wait this whole thing until Mon which is my post op appt.

Re: 8 days post op Laproscopic.

I'm sorry to hear that your not feeling well. I too experienced what I felt were cramps and some vaginal pressure only it was during the days that I would normally ovulate. I talked with my dr and nurse 14 days post and was told it was normal due to my body adjusting to the changes. The dr and his nurse reminded me that I had a number of ares with stitches on the inside and that as they heal I will experience pain, pulling, etc. from the inside until I healed more. He then reminded me that I still needed to rest and eat well, drink plenty of water to help support the healing process. I know those painful days can be alarming, especially after a "good" day, but it seems to get better daily. The best advice I can give is to call your dr and listen to your body. I called my dr at least twice a week during the first two weeks. I hope this helps, and wish you continued success in your recovery. Take care.
