I got a date for the Castle...I'm truly a LIW
I have got my date for the castle. Its October 16. I was really doing fine until they called me and told me the date. Now I'm scared. I've read just about everything I can but it still is a shock to think that I'm 29 and will never have another period
In a way I'm excited to get rid of the pain in my side that I've had for years. I have 3 sons 9,7,and3 that have a wonderful Grandma, My mother in law, she's going to take a couple of weeks off from work and take the boys. Plus help me I guess. My DH says that he's going to help out everywhere he can. I'm trying to get everything in order before it happens.
I've read that you give the nurses a basket, does anyone have a good poem to put on the basket? I feel like I have so much to do and so little time. I want to go through the closets and toy boxes so the my friend and family won't see such a mess. How do you all deal with gotta get everything perfect blues?
Thanks for listening and being my friends

I got a date for the Castle...I'm truly a LIW
Hi Lynn,
I remember when I finally got my date, that I was relieved, because I knew exactly when it would be, but that's also when I started to get a little scared and nervous. You've read it here probably a million times, but it really is true that the waiting part is the hardest part.
I like your idea of a poem to go with the goodie basket - hopefully someone will come along who is good with words and give you some suggestions.
Please try to remember to not get too worn out getting things perfect before you go into the castle - your recovery will be easier if you are rested up beforehand.
It sounds as if you're going to have a good support system at home, too. I'll bet your MIL will enjoy being able to spend time with your little guys. That's great that she can take time off from her job to be able to take care of them.

Hi Lynn
Now you are in the hardest part, the waiting. When you think that you can't wait anymore it is almost time. Take the advice from Karen don't overdo before surgery, I don't think your friends and family will be looking at the mess anyway. Use some of this time to just pamper yourself before the surgery. I had to work up to the weekend before my surgery but I still was well rested. My DR gave me a few sleeping pills so I could get some rest the couple of nights before. She said she wanted a well rested patient. So just try to relieve some of that stress and it is soooo normal to be scared. Talking does help. God Bless.
