Menopause symptoms following Novasure?

hi ladies, i had the novasure procedure done in november, and i have to say i have been pretty satisfied with it, my periods were so bad i was bed ridden for at least 2 days a month. as time has been going by, each month i am getting more and more period symptoms, swollen and sore breast, a little crampy, but my main problem is night sweats. i am not talking a little wet and uncomfortable, i am talking, i can wring out my night gown and need to change my sheets sometimes more than once a night. i called my doctor and she said, i may be starting to go through menopause, i am only 40 years old and didnt have this before i had that procedure. i get the sweats more when i probably would be getting my period. i am just wondering if i am the only one, thank you in advance, take care terry

I'm glad for you that the Novasure has helped you. I had it done and didn't have good results in the end, but I know it helps a lot of women. I have never heard of it causing menopause to start. I know with a hysterectomy the ovaries can go into shock and will sometimes stop functioning. With only the lining being destroyed it seems unlikely an ablation would have this same effect.

If you learn anymore about this please let us know. We're all different in when menopause begins. I'm sorry you're having to deal with it so early. in there and maybe do some reading up on your options to control or deal with the symtoms. I hope the Novasure continues to control your bleeding issues.
