Anyone else have a hematoma?

I went to the doctor because I had redness around my abdominal incision and had an open place with a lot of draining. He said I have a seroma ("hematoma") and put me on an antibiotic and told me to put hydrogen peroxide on it and change the bandage twice per day. This was Wednesday. Today is Friday and I still have a lot of redness, drainage and pain at the site. Anyone else have this experience, and how long does it take to clear up? Thanks!

I know there are women out there who have had this. I'm sorry I didn't have one so I can't help you much. Try searching for hematoma here on the site. I know you'll find threads where it was discussed.

Hopefully bumping you up here will give you a another chance at finding someone who has also experienced this. I hope you heal quickly and get to feeling better soon.

Thanks for answering, Rita! Actually I think it's abcessed because there are several "open" spots on the incision. I will check out the site. Thanks and God bless
