Question about Exam..

Ok , So I am sitting here thinking , I have had 2 internal exams by by doctor , He used the speculum and his fingers checking my incision line , it didnt hurt at all , Is this an indicator that sex isn't going to hurt either??? Just a thought.. AND Does the type of surgery you have make a difference?

Re: Question about Exam..

It is a good sign for sure. When you do get released to have sex just take it slow the first few times & don't expect it to be perfect (it still could be perfect but if it is not don't worry). It sounds like you are doing well. Best wishes.

Re: Question about Exam..

I was told not to be on top for the first few weeks after you are released for sex, and to take it easy. My exam only hurt when I had an infection, and it didn't hurt at all after it had cleared up.

Re: Question about Exam..

I had my pelvic exam, and I wouldn't say it was painful, just minor discomfort.

My first try at actual intercourse was so less than ok. However, the week prior the outer-course attempt was amazing.
I had LAVH, so I don't know if that has anything to do with it.
I felt much better after posting here, I have no one in my life I could ask such a question and live to tell the tale lol
I guess I am one who will have to keep giving it the "Old College Try"
Just wish it was as easy as it was in College lol!
"Slow & Shallow" wins the race...., atleast for now

I thought it might be better to be on top, you can control pretty much everything that way?
Do you know why?

Re: Question about Exam..

When you are on top, there is deeper penetration and more of a possibility in a tear. Exactly what Ginge said, slow and shallow. That's what my doctor told me as well, was to keep it shallow and take it easy the first few weeks.

Re: Question about Exam..

I figured it would be an indicator , He touched the cuff itself and I felt no pain...Even when he did the silver Nitrate to get rid of the tiny spot of granulated tissue it didnt nor does it hurt now at all...I still have 2 weeks until i can have sex though..thats 2 more weeks to heal!

Re: Question about Exam..

I read somewhere that the woman laying flat on her stomach is a good position for after hysterectomy.......it reduces the chance of an accidental stabbing of the cuff by limiting penetration.

My exam didn't hurt at all but so far there has been pain associated with each time. We went slow and ended up okay but I am hoping it gets better. I had some repairs as well so that could be it.
