Alright, how many overdid it yesterday?
I definitely over did it, but only had some swelly belly, but within 1/2 hour of resting it subsided. I never had pain, just a bit of soreness like a did one too many sit ups, but I was so proud of all I did yesterday
Today I went in the attic and brought my Christmas lights down and put them on the windows and a few other decorations. I will do more tomorrow. I love to decorate for Christmas
Hope you all had a nice day STay strong and courageous. It will get better!!!

Alright, how many overdid it yesterday?
I made a pie and sweet potatoes and went to my evil SIL house from 2-9 and I am exhausted today. She is a witch and started sniping at me within 30 seconds of walking in...her version of humor, so I think the mental strain got me. Then this AM one of my step DD's friends called at 6am (they are in NY and she forgot time change) and I am watching my two granddaughters today (19 mo and 8 mo). Tomorrow I am cooking the turkey and goodies to have with my DD and her babies and I am tired thinking about it!
My DH just said "what do you mean you're tired?" I am tired of feeling like a broken record explaining how this might last awhile. Oh well!
Glad all you wonderful sisters are recovering from your big days. I look forward to Monday when I get the house back to myself for my last week off!

Alright, how many overdid it yesterday?
I overdid it, but only by laughing. I was only 6 days P/O but wanted so badly to go eat with friends. I questioned my sanity in wanting to do it, but figured I would just get worn out, be sore, but still have great memories. I'm so glad I went! I even had a urine 'leg bag' that would swell up (it would fill quickly) and we just all made fun of my massive leg muscle look. And I even had to get up at 6 for an appt first thing in Urology. So happy to get rid of that foley bag! I feel SO much better already! I'm thankful ToDaY!!

I overdid it for sure! Two celebrations back to back and I did some of the food for both and enjoyed it all so much. In the evening I sat down to visit and that was much needed.
Had a rough night and am sore today, internal pain, but not too bad for only 1 1/2 weeks post op!

Well, I sort of over-ate. But, that was about it. We were both very lazy yesterday until it came time to go to dinner.

Alright, how many overdid it yesterday?
Hi All,
Hope everyone had a great day, as we did here. I did overdo a bit, didn't sit much, even with my great dh's assisitance...he did the turkey and heavy stuff, but I ran around like a nut serving and clearing and making sure everyone was all set (12 for dinner and about 30 for dessert). Everyone brought stuff, and they all kept saying "Oh, you need to rest!" But isn't it funny? Their butts are stuck to their chairs when they say it. The other problem is that my dd (27 and mom of 2 babies) just had spinal fusion surgery on 11/7, and that poor thing is in such dire need of help that I am constantly forgetting that I am not 100% yet (till I bend at the waist and yelp like a puppy!) All in all, my family has been great. I think I will be going back to work next week...the Dr and disability insurance co are still working it out. I feel ok but when this whole thing started my surgeon said 6-8 weeks off and I had my head leaning towards 8! So I need to buckle down and get my head in gear. Have a great weekend!

I over did it and now I'm scared
Yep, I over did it. Now as I lay here in bed I have a lot of pain and I am scared I did some damage like a hernia, or internal stich problems. Why am I such a *******? My husband and sister keep telling me to chill out and rest and I am so stubborn that I insist on doing stuff. What is my problem? My children told me that they wish they had there mom back and that I am boring. My husband looks at me like I am broken. He is afraid to touch me. The holiday's are emotional enough and now I have to deal with being broken, boring whild having menopause symptoms.
Thank you for letting me vent.

Alright, how many overdid it yesterday?
Hey girls!
We went to Tennessee 2 weeks from the day of my surgery to spend Thanksgiving with our daughter. DH did all the driving (per my DR's agreement that I could make trip). Doc warned of possible bleeding. I spotted a little and did have some low back and abdominal pain for Thursday and Friday, but did lots of walking while there....even a little day after Thanksgiving shopping with my kiddo and her mother-in-law. DH was a sport and went along to drive and carry things for me. Really was pretty worried about such a long ride, but evidentally someone was watching over me. We stayed until Monday to give me a few days between 6+ hour rides in the car. I have been blessed with such less pain and problems than I anticipated. Do you ever look back to the last day or so before surgery.....when you considered putting it all off..and be amazed that the time is going so quickly? At first the days seemed SO horribly long, but they are getting shorter since I can do more.
My Mom had one of those "grabber" things and I have used it a big, big bunch. I can pick up lots of things by myself......and that is a good thing since I am not real graceful....tee hee. DH agrees with that one big time. I even use it to pick up laundry from floor or bottom of hamper to put into washer. DH or DS carry hamper of clean clothes to sofa for me, or I fold at dryer. Scary when you think of all the things we took forgranted before surgery isn't it?
My biggest issue has been I-N-S-O-M-N-I-A, along with getting really hot, and some night sweats thrown in to boot some nights. Well, other than missing sex with my sweet DH. These have been a very difficult 3 weeks and 2 days for us.........well, actually3 weeks and 6 days since my body decided it would be cute and "hit me" one last time the Saturday before surgery. Hoping immensely for the "green light" by 6 weeks.....doc also mentioned 8 weeks as a possibility. But I say, "If I can't even have sex with my DH, how can I be expected to go back to a back-breaking 12 hour work day as a nurse on a hospital floor that is pure chaos?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!??!?!" That doesn't seem fair, does it?
Sorry ladies, I didn't mean to rattle on so, just haven't been on for a while. Glad that other than those of you who over worked yourself on the holiday, everyone is doing well. Take good care! Maybe we will all feel "peachy" by Christmas....that would be an awesome present for all of us "princesses" who have been through a lot this Fall, wouldn't it?
Best wishes to all of you.
Tammy
