Sex post op

I am aware of the guidlines regarding sex after surgery-ie no penetrative sex for at least six weeks, however I cannot seem to find information on orgasm post op. Is it safe ? or should I wait the same length of time as penetrative sex.

You do need to specifically ask your doctor if orgasms are okay or not. It depends on you and your surgery. Some doctors tell their patients it is okay, and some say absolutely not! So find out what is okay for you as it is better to be safe than sorry!

I don't know about you, but for me it wasn't worth it. I had a SAH/BSO on Jan. 2 and then an infection. I was feeling pretty good about 2weeks post. My partner and I did the mutual masturbation thing...for me just clitoral and external stimulation to a teensy orgasm...but enough to start up cramping and a bunch of other funky feelings and pain for nearly 16 hours afterwards. I finally figured out that it was possibly because I still have my cervix.

I was four weeks post op when I had my first not one but two orgasms. I am happy to say that everything went well. I am waiting another week to have any penetration but my partner is patient, gentle and loving and could not be more understanding. That helps a great deal. I had a total and complete hysterectomy, I mean everything is gone and sex was the one thing I worried so much about. Although I wept like a baby afterwards since then I am better.
