Re: feeling lost/down/depressed post hysterectomy

I couldn't agree more with sisters above. Pamper yourself and listen to your body! These women have given me so much hope and support. Your feelings are totally normal even when you feel that you..are not. Myself, I've had an extra hard time but only wake up now about 6-7 times a night, much better. It's a very hard road. I just w anted to give up so many times , then I would log on! Just this week, I'm starting to have some good days along with all the bad so there may be that light after all! Lol my thoughts and prayers to each of you! Hang tough..even on the tough days!
God bless!
Where is hystersisters home office? Would be nice to have meetings, branches all over the US, as this is SO needed!

Re: feeling lost/down/depressed post hysterectomy

I am about one week ahead of you. I have had similar feelings. I expected speedy recovery despite what I was told. Never been sick more than a few days in my life. Thought I was different. Well, that didn't happen and I had some bladder trauma because they to clean a lot of blood from around it and my abdominal cavity. My bladder and uretha nearly killed me my second week. I was depressed. I have always been upbeat and positive. I feel much better now but it still hurts. At least I know it will heal. Every time you feel a smidgen better, note it mentally. It helps you feel more positive. I too am scared about sex. I have heard good and bad stories about the first few times. It gets better, sometimes in just a day. Oh, get lots of sleep. I sleep ten hours some nights. I swear that has helped.

Hang in there sister! It's even hard for me to say that, as I've had a very hard time. Awesome support here, knowing you're not alone! Hour by hour, I agree. Listen to your own body also. There is so much great support here . Thinking of you!

Re: feeling lost/down/depressed post hysterectomy

Oops! Also...the sex part..my advice is to wait as long as possible, if cervix removed. That needs more healing time. I believe the longer you wait..the better. My gyn told me that also and it was great advice. Go slow and easy at first. I waited a good 14 weeks with no regrets. Your choice..just my opinion dear. Have a great day!

Thank you all so very much for your support. Im thinking that the 14 week mark for sex is a WONDERFUL idea as my cervix was taken. Ill be waiting as long as i can until its 100% healed i dont want any more issues health wise.
I still have lots of pressure doing a wee but im hoping that over the next few weeks it will get better

Re: feeling lost/down/depressed post hysterectomy

Its been a constant struggle for me, I dont feel love nor do I want to reciprocate.... its unfair but what can I do...... I dont have any erge to merge...... my feelings towards loving is gone, how can I get it back... I know it may sound silly but I want to feel normal again

It seems as if we are all suffering from the same disease.
God bless
