Had my preop and the nurse gave me a product called Enemol for my bowel prep. Will Fleet Phospho soda oral laxative do the same thing.I would really prefer to do this rather than having to do an enema. Please answer me as soon as possible

Do what your Dr. advises. They each have their own ways they want you prepped. Honest the enema isn't that bad. Yes, I dread having to do it, but once it's over its over. Sometimes with the oral laxatives, you can dehydrate yourself, and you don't want to do that and risk having your surgery potponed. Funny some Docs want an enema, mine wanted enema and douche (despite the fact that I have heard douching is bad for ph and can cause infection, I did it cuz he said so), some require nothing, some say drink 1 phospho soda, some say drink 2. My theory is to do what the Dr. says in this department because if something is amiss you can always say you followed his/her instructions to the tee!.
Sending for a successful surgery!

Thanks for your advice .It's just that my Mom won't help me with the enema and I can't do it myself.I just wish there was another way to do it.

Bowel prep

Have you ever tried to do one before? It is a little awkward, but doable. If you are physically able to get on the ground and kneel with one shoulder close to the floor, and butt end up, reach around with the hand that's not attached to the shoulder on the ground to give the enema. Just rely on those old TWISTER game skills!! Good luck to you!!!

Oh MY .. Twister just gave me a visual I would like to NOT have in my head right now!

My Dr. requires me to do TWO enemas.. each followed 30 minutes later by warm water. THEN I have to drink the citrate nonsense.. I figure I'll lost around 5 lbs right there alone!

Not to mention not eating a whole lot for two full days...

I think you're awful lucky!!!
