Re: Staples or stitches?

Dissolvable stitches although my left side didn't dissolve and sticks out a bit. The Dr. was going to remove them but I freaked out and told him, "If they are not bothering me, why should we bother them?" He agreed that it will dissolve in a matter of months. I'm squimish.

Re: Staples or stitches?

No stiches or staples for me. Just some sort of glue/adhesive on the incisions on my tummy. Dissovlable stiches on the vaginal cuff.

Re: Staples or stitches?

He used glue, when I looked at it, they looked like a thread. just when you shower blot dry don't rub, they'll start peeling off eventually b my surgery was 1/28 & my incisions look like a paper cut the size of my pinky nail.

I did do something stupid & caused bleeding through my vagina so tomarrow at my follow up I'll find out what's in the inside.

Re: Staples or stitches?

I had 23 staples for my abdominal incision and my laprascopic incisions had 1 stitch each. The staples were removed 1 week later and replaced with steri strips. A week after that the strips were removed and the stitches were also taken out.
