2 days post op and gas pain

I am two days postop of LVAH and I am having extereme gas pains. Can't really pass gas. Any suggestions please

take gas x, and drink plenty of water, also hot water or as hot as you can drink it.I've had 2 laparoscopic procedures, including my hsyterectomy last week. I fully empathise with you, try and move about , to alleviate it too.The gas finally disappeared 6 days after my op.

I also had a lot of gas, and I tried to walk around my house as much as I could. I never did take gas-x, but I did drink a lot of water. It is very uncomfortable, I hope that it will ease up soon. I am 8 days post op, and still have some gas in there!

Warm decaf/herbal tea and water. Gas x. Also, benfiber helps keep you regular (even prevents diarrhea too) and is INsoluble fiber, so it doesn't produce excess gas like others.

I tried Colase, a stool softener. I'm in my 4th week post-op and just now am gas free!!!!

I also has extreme pain from gas. I'm now at day 4 and am great. I have 2 -3 T of ground flax meal every day on oatmeal, etc so I continued that, took gas-x and my dr. told me to use Miralax. Gas disappeared yesterday after 1st BM and today I feel great! Also - very important - I stopped taking the pain meds which cause constipation on day 2 and this helped tremendously! Good luck! I feel for you. I was absolutely miserable!

Wow am I ever glad I found this thread!

I am now only 3 days post op and not only am I constipated, but I have been grappling with INSANE gas pains that of course I cannot get rid of.

I didn't know that you could take Gas-X for them (I used to take that a few years ago because I have a history of having issues passing gas lol). I think that I will make hubby go to the pharmacy and get some because the last few nights the pain has kept me awake. No amount of walking or movement seems to alleviate this.

Oh boy I will be so glad when I am feeling better. I hope you guys are feeling much better now than what you were!

My problem was over on day 4 and now I'm back to normal!
