Bleeding 10 days Post Op TVH. Anyone else.

Started bleeding 3 days ago, mostly when I go to the bathroom, actually peeing blood. I did go to the dr. who examined me and did an internal ultrasound. She said everything was healing and there were no tears or blood clots. Excessive bleeding for the last year is what caused me to have the hysterectomy in the first place. I'm not having a lot of pain just a little crampy and stiffness which I am sure is normal at this point. Just wondering is anyone is experiencing the same thing with bleeding after TVH.

Are you PEEING blood, or is it vaginal? Those are two very different problems.

I believe it is vaginal because it is also on the pads I use. I do see blood in the toilet and when I wipe after I go to the bathroom. The same as I did before the surgery but not nearly as bad. Sorry to be so graphic.

No, it's ok to be fairly graphic here (there's a diff between explaining what your body is doing in a health situation (even when talking about sex) and being vulgar... this is definitely the former, and not the latter).

I am now 3 weeks post-op as of yesterday. I had about ten days of *bleeding* (several pads a day - not nearly as much as a period, but not not what my surgeon would call "spotting" either).

Now, I am experiencing some mild crampy-ness and a brownish/pinkish discharge. If I relax, it'll even stop... but if I start up again, it will get worse. Tuesday this week, I even bled some again. But I directly relate that to dancing in church on Sunday. Evidently I have a little "bleeder" in there that just doesn't want to stop. I feel fine, though - no sign of anemia now.

My doc told me that as the cuff is healing, blood can even seep through from something bleeding on the inside... happens all the time... as long as it's not a gusher, no worries about it. (I did tell him that was easy for HIM to say, but I get it..)

I can see how the dancing in church might make things worse. My dr told me the same that even though the cuff is healing, I am oozing blood from the inside. I am trying not to worry too much, I am just looking forward to the day when my body finally stops bleeding . It's been a long time.

Don't worry it will stop soon. I had some bleeding after my TVH too. What worried me is when it stopped for a few days and then started again. Just remember if you soak a pad in an hour, it's time to call the doctor again.

Me too, the primary reason for my surgery was heavy bleeding... but soon... there'll be no stopping us...
