I started taking anxiety meds cause I was getting anxiety due to the pain and taking Motrin to help with inflammation from the surgery and now I have my appetite back finally just not eating fattening foods or milk

Re: Appetite change after hysterectomy

I have not had much of a change in appetite, but I find that lots of things I used to love are just way too salty now. Sweets seem sweeter too. I went from two sweetener packets in my coffee to one, and rarely put salt on anything now. I tried to eat some lunch meat the other day on a sandwich, and it tasted like straight up salt. My family ate theirs and looked at me like I was nuts, lol! I am finding that I just want bland things. Anyone else have an experience like that?

I don't have much of an appetite since my surgery, but during the night i get hungry. I don't sleep very well because of hot flashes, I don't want to take medication but i think I'll have to at some point.

I'm also not into salt post surgery, which is really odd as I was a big salt user before. When my husband saw my negative reaction to tasting scrambled eggs I had salted he said "who are you and what have you done with my wife". lol
If I add salt to anything the way I used to it is inedible to me now, like I can taste the individual salt grains. So weird!

Re: Appetite change after hysterectomy

I've noticed that things taste different. So far my appetite is only different in that since the surgery (december 17th... 2 weeks ago) I've not been able to eat quite as much. But that is normal for me after any illness or surgery.

I thought it was really strange that things are tasting different, but my husband's aunt said that it was the same for her after her hysterectomy surgery!

Things are much more distinct in flavor now. I taste each flavor in the bite of food separately, if that makes any sense! salty, bitter, sweet, it's all in waves. So strange!
