Still having pain/swelling in buttocks

I had laprascoptic hysterectomy, (grade 3 cystocele) bladder lift/sling, and vaginal cuff 7 weeks ago today. My uterus was removed and I kept both ovaries and cervix. From my understanding, my physician grafted tissue from inside of my buttocks to use for the bladder lift. Has anyone else had this done??

I feel pretty good but I am still having pain in my butt area and for sitting for long periods of time. The Dr. noted that I had mild rectocele and I am beginning to wonder if she should have done a repair in that area as well. Is it normal to still have some swelling at 7 weeks post op?? When will it go away???

My other question is...I am still having problems with urine leakage. My physicain placed me on Enablex and it seems to be working a little bit. She said it will take about three months for the bladder to calm down and then I can be taken off of the medication. Has anyone else ever experienced this and if so, when did you eventually stop leaking urine??

Thanks

Re: Still having pain/swelling in buttocks

SLRenken -

I am sorry to hear you are having pain and leakage.

My general advice is that long-term healing takes 6 to 12 months, so you are still in that time frame and you had repairs done as well.

I have heard of drs using a patients own tissue or fascia for their repairs.

Hopefully others with a similar experience will stop by and post.
