Exhaustion from fibroids

Hello dear sisters,

I'm new here. I just found out that my uterus is filled with fibroids, one of which is 12 cm and calcified, 5 month size. I have a hysterectomy

Scheduled for 4/7/2014.

I do not have heavy periods. Clotting, but not really heavy at all. But I'm so darn exhausted all of the time. I have had my bloodwork done and nothing shows being off.

Has anyone else experienced the extreme fatigue as a result of fibroids even though there is no anemia present ?

Thanks so much In advance.

I suffered from general fatigue. Only had a couple heavy periods before I had them remove the mass, but it certainly didn't help. I'm feeling better every day now, started exercising again last week even. It's not the answer to everything, but it was one GIANT step in the right direction. Those things don't grow on their own, they're like leeches in your system!

Hi alpha omega. Do you have any other pain from your fibroids?

Re: Exhaustion from fibroids

Occasionally pain during ovulation. And typical cramps during menstruation. But for the most part, not really.

My uterus is hard as a rock from the bowling ball beast I'm lugging around.

Re: Exhaustion from fibroids

I am so sorry you are going through this hugs. I had surgery in October because of a 12 cm fibroid. I was SO tired before surgery, not only that, I was in major pain. I am surprised you are not in that much pain? But I will say again, the fatigue was pathetic, I think the fibroid really puts strain on our bodies, especially that big.

Re: Exhaustion from fibroids

My tiredness came from the pain and the disruption of sleep it caused.I had a lot of back ache as well.Mine was smaller at 8cms but I've heard that its not so much the size of the fibroid but its location.A lady posted the other day of bad pain with one at 1cm.To have a uterus hard as a rock because its filled with fibroids is probably enough to have a drain on you anyway. You'll feel so much better when they're gone.take care

Re: Exhaustion from fibroids

I think you could be tired from several things. First, just the general stress of having it, and second, you are carrying around extra weight, plus, if yours if like mine, it is pushing on your bladder and can make things uncomfortable. I get out of breath more easily, and think it is pushing on my diaphragm.

Good luck to you!

Re: Exhaustion from fibroids

When I asked my doctor how many I had her reply was "zillions". Seriously. ?

Two huge ones that they can see via ultrasound.

Re: Exhaustion from fibroids

All I know is if you are carrying around that extra stuff, it can be exhausting.
I measure like I am 20 weeks pregnant.
So tired of it, and I see the shape of the tumor under my skin.
Creepy at times!
