Re: Still spotting?

Hi! I had my TVH on 11/11 and had the same spotting as you for the first 2 wks. and now none at 3 wks. My Dr's office said as long as it isn't soaking a pad an hour or 2 or is bright red--that it is normal and can last even 6 wks. Hang in there~~it will stop eventually--it is just your body healing! Best Wishes to you!

Re: Still spotting?

Spotting and discharge can occur for about 6 weeks, though some ladies won't have any and some of us will have more than enough! I bleed/spotted for 12 weeks!

Brown usually indicates old blood vs. new blood so more than likely you are fine. If you have any doubts, don't hesitate to call your doctor about what is okay for you!

Additionally, we have a few Post Op Articles about bleeding you might want to read through.

Re: Still spotting?

I had a total hyst on 10/26 and I had bleeding for a day or so after the surgery. My doc told me that I would start having some bright red spotting at 10-14 days post op. At day 9 post-op the spotting started and just this week stopped. Monday I will be 6 weeks post op and now all I have left is a slight brownish discharge with some odor so I'm guessing that I'm at the end now. Which is a good thing because I'm anxious to get my sex life back! The only thing I've been worried about is the fact that I'm ready to have sex but nervous because I haven't seen any signs of my stitches and I was under the impression that I would see them as they came loose.

Re: Still spotting?

Oh, Boy! I am so happy to have read this post! I am almost 2 weeks post op and just noticed a light pink spotting! I freaked out and immediately ran to my computer to see if I could find the cause. I did over do it today. Now, I know I need to quit acting like "Superwoman" and rest!! I love this forum!!

Re: Still spotting?

I had some bleeding (dark red) about week 2 1/2. Then at week 3 I had some fairly heavy bleeding (brighter color). At that point I passed a clot and it all stoped for a few days. Then I had a tiny bit and finally went to the doctor to see if all was okay. He advised that it was all within the realm of 'normal'. I'm not having any now, but I guess I won't be too alarmed if I do see some after reading these posts.

When I saw the doctor, he also 'swabbed' me; I'm not sure what he put inside of me, but it didn't hrt so I don't think it was the silver nitrate.
