sore back/body and not sure I like the pill vs the patch

I had my LSH-LSO (RSO done in 2009) On June 2nd and was placed on the 0.1mg estradial patch in the recovery room and wore it for 1 week and switched to estradiol 2mg pills two days ago. I had no problems while I was on the patch for the seven days. I had a few big hot flashes and night sweats the first couple of days but from then on out I really felt emotionally fantastic no moods swings or anything I was feeling wonderful (except from the pain and soreness from surgery). Since I started the pill I have had more pain in my pelvic area, some weird phantom pain where my uterus was, body aches, nipple tenderness and just an overall feeling of body pain.

I am also having an increase in fatigue and just feel bla. Is this because I changed hormone types or is this a normal part of recovery? I was so worried that I was going to have a hormonal rollercoaster and didn't, that I forgot to pay attention to the side effects of too much estrogen until my mom brought it up to me. Is this normal?

On a different note, my back hurts really bad from sitting/lying down for a week. I do walk a bit but I am not able to strech my back or get in and out of a hot bath so I don't know how to make it better

Re: sore back/body and not sure I like the pill vs the patch

I can't help you at all about the hormone issue. Sorry! I do, however, have a few suggestions for the back pain you're having. I had it too after my surgery and I made sure I sat in my recliner with a small pillow supporting my lower back. That really helped a lot. Plus, I used a heating pad on my back to help loosen things up. I found both of these suggestions on this site before I had my surgery, so I was prepared when I had to deal with it myself. Hope this helps you!
