Week one and counting

I am one week out today, and I still have my staples in. I had TAH (I go to the Dr. this afternoon). I have been resting & pacing / walking, mostly and my pain is being controlled by motrin & Tylenol. I'm feeling pretty good & I wonder when I can start doing light kitchen duty, packing lunches, etc. We have plans to go on vacation @ my 5-6 weeks out - I'm hoping I continue upward @ this point.

When can I resume light duties around the house?

you sound like a champ. Please pace yourself. One day in my week 2 I felt great, then paid for it later. I'm new here. What does TAH stand for? thanks.

When can I resume light duties around the house?

Hi libra64!

That's a good question to ask your doctor at your appointment today. It's important to rest and allow your body the time it needs to heal, but easing back into normal activities which don't stress your healing tissues may be allowed. Ask your doctor what is right for you.

wolff-G to the site! TAH stands for Total Abdominal Hysterectomy (removal of the uterus and cervix) Here's a handy link to use to decipher the abbreviations used on this site: Abbreviations.

When can I resume light duties around the house?

I started doing 'light' things at 3 weeks, but I have no small children I know it is different for you that do. You must not push yourself rest and relax all the chores, dust and ect. will still be there when you are feeling better. You have a goal to be well for your vacation so rest rest rest
