Not anxious at peace is this normal

I do not have children, I am 33 and the doctor is doing my procedure with the divinchi. When we talked he asked me to consider not removing my ovaries. As they are the cause of my troubles (PCOS) and after reading some research I have decided to remove both of my ovaries as well as my uterus, my cervix, and my Fallopian tubes. I am not nervous or have any anxious feelings. I am completely at peace with my decisions. All of the post I have read thus far have been about women who seem extremely nervous or scared or hesitant. Is it normal to feel completely at peace over my decision?

Hi,

This is just amazing to me that you are at peace, that you are not nervous; this is awesome! How did you get to this? I want what YOU have lol. I believe it can be achievable (to be peaceful) so PLEASE let us know how you get in this mindset!

Not anxious at peace is this normal

Every since I was a little girl I knew deep inside I was not going to be able to have children. I have a very small uterus. It took a very long time for me to be diagnosed with PCOS. After having a D&C a year ago and not having all my normal periods my doctors finally gave me the ok to have the surgery. I think it is having known all these years that I could not have children and knowing that this is best decision for me that I have found inner peace. I just feel very at peace. I am ok with what may come and know that my life will be different but I will not have risk of cancer anymore. I hope this answers the how I came to this peace-fullness

Re: Not anxious at peace is this normal

Yes it is normal. I was ecstatic when I FINALLY got a doctor to agree to surgery. I think I actually did a happy dance. My situation was that I have had long, heavy, painful periods since I was 11. After my youngest was born I had a tubal ligation and since then my periods started to become more erratic. Then in the last year and a half I've had 3 times when I started my period and it didn't want to stop (had to take meds to get it to stop). I've been severely anemic for over 20 years (averaged between 5-8). I was just so sick and tired that I knew that something had to change. Thankfully my doctor agreed. My only regret is that I hadn't found my doctor sooner.
