Not feeling "frisky" yet

I realize it will be a while before I am allowed to have intercourse, but I am concerned because I have not gotten a single sensation from certain scenes in movies or on tv that would usually cause a reaction for me. A friend just had this done about 2 months ago and she said it took about 6 weeks for her, but I think she was just talking about when she was allowed to do anything. I am only 32, and my Dr has been suggesting I get this done since I was 29, but I put it off as long as possible because I have always had a great sex drive, and didn't want to lose it. I am on estrodol and progesterone now, and Im only 9 days post op so I know it's possible for me to be overreacting about nothing, its just so odd for me to not have felt "frisky" for so long. Is this common? I have heard that estrix (sp) helps with the libido. But other that this issue, my menopause seems ok so far, yet not a lot of time has passed for me to really see how I am doing with it. Anyone else have this concern so early in their recovery?

Re: Not feeling "frisky" yet

Hi Gardengal!

Looks like we are pretty close in this new path. My surgery date was April 9, 2013. I am curious as well about the frisky business. Mine might be a lil different. Sad to say that at 47 I just wasn't all that interested in sex to begin with for a while. But, now all of a sudden I find myself flirting up a storm and making lil provocative remarks to my husband. I think in my case a switch has been turned on. Good luck.

Re: Not feeling "frisky" yet

I wasn't interested in sex much before my op ( sad to say at only 39 years old but true) and certainly haven't had any urges as yet to pounce on poor hubby!
