7 weeks post hysterectomy... I did this to feel better?

I had my uterus and cervix removed 7 weeks ago due to adenomyosis. I was in pain all the time in both my back and my lower abdomen. Now that I've had this done, I think I'm whose and not better. I'm sick to my stomach all the time. I feel panicky. My stomach is constantly cramping up. I go from constipation to diarrhea. My back still hurts.
I'm trying to stay positive. Has anyone gone through all this and if so, does it get better? I just want my life back. The life I had 5 years ago before my uterus started to cause me grief!

Re: 7 weeks post op... I did this to feel better?

I had adeno too. My back hurt like crazy before the surgery and continued to hurt until I went to a chiropractor and got a massage and adjustment! Around that time my abdominal pain eased a lot. I can't say if it was the adjustment and massage or if it was just time to heal but it was really just these past two weeks that I took a huge turn. All this was after my gyn checked me out and didn't find anything else wrong. So, you should start there.

Of course an adjustment isn't going to fix your GI issues, so that's another thing you'll want to ask your Doc about. I experience that because I have IBS. :P But I have some meds that helped me with that and it seems to be doing ok right now.

I hope you can find some answers and feel better soon.

Re: 7 weeks post op... I did this to feel better?

I had my hyster for adenomyosis, too. I am only 6 days out and still in recovery but on the days that were my worst before surgery these were the things that helped me the most: thermacare heat wraps (buy in build), fresh pressed juices (pineapple, orange and coconut nectar, not water) were the best to fight inflammation and gentle yoga.
I am hopeful that I will achieve a full recovery and relief from the debilitating symptoms I had before my hyster. I think you can get there too. It takes time and patience. I had a TVH and was told 10 days but I am taking the time my body tells me I need and it is way more than I planned for. At this point if I get a walk in and change floors in my home I have achieved much.
Hang in there. It will get better.

Re: 7 weeks post op... I did this to feel better?

I had severe endometriosis and it took a good year to feel "normal" after my surgery. I'm 19mths out from surgery, just relax and listen to your body, if you do something and it hurts or is bothersome, stop and rest, don't worry about what other people say, I have heard/read somewhere that a hysterectomy (doesn't matter the type of you had/have) it's one step down from heart surgery. Yes, the laprascopic surgeries are "less invasive" but it is a major surgery nonetheless, taken your time with the healing

Thanks everyone for your replies. I guess I have to adjust to a new normal until my body is fully healed. I've never been a patient person lol!
