Home from the Castle
Hi everyone, I just wanted to say I am home and doing good. I had my VH/bladder sling/prolapse repairs and herniated belly button done tuesday morning. I came home thursday (2 days post). The only problem I have had is the gas. Seems my body has forgotten how to *toot* Its getting better tho..... I feel very beat up, and sore but other than the gas pains that were excruciating on wednesday and so so thursday, I am doing pretty well. I ended up with a incision across my bikinin line due to the bladder neck suspension. I have of course been eating broth, jello and lots of tea, but I induldged in some slice and bake suger cookies too. Other than that I have not wanted to really eat anything else... My belly is pretty bloated and the thought of putting food i it just doesnt seem appealing right now... I had a catheter and they removed it the 2nd day and it was piece of cake, never even felt it. Peeing has not been a problem, but I am dreading that first BM. Have been on stool softeners so hopefully that will make the difference when the time finally comes...... Any suggestions for aiding the gas along? I have been drinking mint tea, and doing a good amount of walking. I just dont know what else. I am sure I will feel mucho better when I can clear out more and more of it.......

Welcome Home!
You are doing great things. Just keep walking and drinking. My doctor suggested the Wal-Mart brand of Senokot as a stool softener. It worked!

Hello Susan
I am so glad to hear that you are home and doing good
Gas X is really a good choice, and stool softeners were a God sent for me, in fact I am still taking them.
Please keep us posted on how you are doing.
Take Care
