Blood Sugars Worse After Hysterectomy??? Help!

Good Afternoon Systers,

Since my surgery (TAH on March 9th - have both Ovaries) I have been doing rather well, for the most part. Spring fever is here... wish I could clean! Omg! Did I just say that??? LoL

Anyways, I have Hypoglycemia. I've been eating well - 3-5 healthy meals a day - taking better care of me than I did before surgery. Well, my blood sugars are falling into the 60's causing shakes, sweats and whatnot. Could it be from hormones? Do hormones effect blood sugar levels? I'm confused because I've had more issues with my blood sugar falling these last couples weeks post-op than I did for months pre-op.

Anyone else having blood sugar issues after surgery? If so, have you figured out why? Any input is greatly appreciated!

What does your Dr say about your blood sugars? Insulin is indeed a hormone, and can be affected by many things. It is really important though for you not to guess, but to let your Dr decide what is both the cause and proper treatment for you - Regardless of other members' experiences.

Be sure and let us know what your says. I hope you continue to recover well, and do continue to fight that urge to clean. It really isn't worth it
