ideas for removal of sticky residue from bandage

i need ideas of how to get rid of the sticky residue that has been left behind from the bandage thingy that they had over my wound from the TAH, i thought i had gotten it all off but obvioulsy i hadnt, the fibres of my pants have kinda stuck to it and has made a nasty mess. I've tried scrubbing at it to get it off but end up in pain as the area is still very sensitive, so dont want to try that again. Its really annoying the heck out of me.

Has anyone else had this problem and what did u do to try and get rid of it?

Rubbing alcohol. Tried, tested and true baby oil can work too

Another vote for alcohol swabs - just wipe gently and the adhesive will come off.

You can actually buy wipes meant for this purpose. I had so much I was ready to try Goo Gone. They gave me some of the wipes at the hospital.

Re: ideas for removal of sticky residue from bandage

I used GooGone to get all the sticky stuff off me when I got home from the hospital. Worked great without a lot of scrubbing in the sensitive areas.

Re: ideas for removal of sticky residue from bandage

I actually used rubbing alcohol with q-tips...just to be sure not to get it in my incision (OUCH). Worked great.

Re: ideas for removal of sticky residue from bandage

My skin was uber dry and I was used glysomed hand cream when I got home, it seemed to do a really good job getting all the iv tape goo off my hand so I just (gently) kept truckin' with it... Worked like a charm!

Baby oil works well and won't further irritate your skin.
