Question about insurance

Good luck to all you Ladies. I am scheduled for my hyst on 11/9/004 and I received my approval last week. That has taken a load off my mind because I had read so many posts of women who were denied at the last minute. I have a friend in the insurance industry and she says the approval depends on when the doctor submits the request. Hang in there.

I had a D&C in July 2002, an ablation in Dec 2002, and now am scheduled for a TAH on 12/15. My bleeding was much better for 18 months after the ablation and is still considerably less than the great floods of 2002. But, I went back to my doctor when I started bleeding nearly every day and even though it's somewhat bearable right now (never mind that I have NO sex life because of the daily bleeding and DH is feeling a bit frustrated!) she recommended the TAH. My insurance company approved it without incident. Strange that some companies won't do preapproval until right before surgery. My date was set and the approval received more than 3 months prior to surgery.

BTW, the delay in the surgery is not because of not being able to get a date. I requested after Dec 10th so I can draw 100% pay while out on disability. Plus, I had/have plans for Sept, Oct, and Nov that I didn't want to change -- and they would have been impossible during recovery.
