Hi Stacynav -

I found clear chick broth a good food to have. It has enough substance to it to fool your system into thinking it is getting real food. I was also allowed to have soda crackers - the crunchy helped. But, those are not on your list.

Distract yourself with favorite DVDs and light reading. Keep yourself as busy as possible. Spend time at your home with your close family.

I was allowed white grape juice and coffee and tea. I was so nervous that the liquid diet wasn't really an issue. Drink lots of water.

I made my own jello from clear fruit juice and unflavored gelatin. If you search the internet, you may also find instructions for jello jigglers, which can feel more substantial than plain jello. If it's currently cold where you live, you may find hot tea or chicken broth more satisfying. Also, don't forget to do something enjoyable, to take the edge off your anxiety. Are you doing a bowel prep?

I have to do one and it is not fun. This will be my 3rd time doing it. Ick...

My hyster is the same day as yours.

I'm allowed broth, jello, and only clear liquids also & I'll be by the potty all day 😭😫

My doctor said it wasn't necessary but I am doing mostly liquid and greens over the next week and drinking lots of water! I also do a fish oil supplement from Barleans which is helping with regular and easy bowel movements...I think the bowel movement issue is my biggest fear with this surgery so I am doing all I can ahead of time to make it as easy as possible.

My doctor told me to keep in mind whatever goes in before surgery has to come out so keep it light and somewhat clear on what you are taking in and to drink plenty of water.

I do have prune and pear juice on hand and stool softeners on hand too!

Yep, I had to get a bottle of magnesium citrate. Looking forward to that as well. I'm starting to panick as I just got my period (4 days early) and I feel like I'm coming down with something like a virus. My daughter had one a week ago.
