Tired two weeks after hysterectomy

Hi sisters,
It will be 2 weeks tomorrow since my total hysterectomy. I am still really tired and don't feel like doing anything. Is this normal? I have not took pain meds for about 4 days. And before that didn't take many mainly just to sleep at night. I want to be back to normal. I am finding it hard even to just get motivated to get ready for the day. Any ideas if this is normal how long it last? I don't go back to the Dr till Aug 21st.
Thank you
Lisa

Re: Tired two weeks after hysterectomy

I had my surgery on 7/2 and I am still very tired as well. On Saturday I took a "nap" from 3-12 am and then went back to bed at 12:30 am until 2 pm the next day. I am at stay at home mom and I've been lucky that my kids are away for the summer because all I want to do lately is lay and take naps. I do not think this is a bad thing since our bodies are recuperating and adjusting so I'm just trying to rest and get better so I don't end up in the hospital again

Re: Tired two weeks after hysterectomy

Thank you for your reply. My biggest concern is I go back to work full time in 2 weeks. I am a Pre K teacher so I hope this really passes fast.

Re: Tired two weeks after hysterectomy

I also had surgery on 7/2 and am still really tired. Everything I'm reading what we are all feeling is normal. I'm just tired of being tired. My first check up appointment is tomorrow and am looking forward to finding out where I am in recovery in relation as to Dr's expectations.

Re: Tired two weeks after hysterectomy

I had a TAH on June 12, and I was exhausted at two weeks post op, I am five weeks now, almost six and sometimes I still find myself getting tired later in the day or if I try and go do a shopping trip. I am expected to come back to work in about a week and I am so nervous about how that is going to go. Good luck and let your body heal!

Tired two weeks after hysterectomy

I had my surgery on 8th July also. I still am feeling really tired and the more I do, the more I need to rest later. I am getting a lot of pelvic/thigh aching as well. Frustrating just feeling tired all the time I know!! Hopefully will pass for us all soon.

Re: Tired two weeks after hysterectomy

Hello. My surgery was 16june and my energy level is not quite up to par yet. I went back to work last week. Usually work full time, but went back 24 hours per week. I do still find myself tired. I just remind myself that my body needs to heal.
