Scheduled DaVinci Partial Hysterectomy (8/31) and taking blood thinner Xarelto.

I am scheduled for a hysterectomy (hoping to keep ovaries) on August 31st (34 years old). My pre-op is the 24th. I am very nervous about the fact that I take a blood thinner called Xarelto. I take it because I got a blood clot from the Depo Provera shots. Every birth control/hormones they gave me caused blood clots. Since I have been having abnormal bleeding and can't take anything else due to blood clot issues, I was given the choice of ablation or hysterectomy. I chose the hysterectomy. I am just wondering how many other women were already on blood thinners when they had their surgery? How long did you have to be off the blood thinners before surgery? Where you put back on them right after surgery? Did it cause you to heal slower? Last question that has me nervous. I am an obese person. I weight about 340lbs. Are there any other women my size that had a hysterectomy with no issues? I am just nervous and scared, but I know without this surgery I will not have a good quality of life. No woman should have to have a period for a whole month and can only wear overnights all the time. I can't go back to that. Since I can't take the Depo no more it wears off soon and that scares me too. I do not want to go back to that life.

Re: Scheduled DaVinci Partial Hysterectomy and taking blood thinner Xarelto.

I just found out right before surgery that I have a clotting disorder and have a greater risk of DVT after surgery. I will be starting blood thinners the day after surgery and continuing for 2 weeks.
