Hormones and cookies

Yup, Audrey! That will be me! Sitting on the couch on Christmas with my cookies and tea! All I need is the crown! I live in Oregon, but would be happy to share DH's wonderful cookies! His grandma's nut roll is to die for! I'll check for the tea thread you mentioned.

I'll ask my doc about the brands of bio-identicals you mentioned. She definitely didn't know the term "bio-identical" but perhaps she's heard of the specific brands and didn't realize they were called that.

I've benefited greatly from this forum and hope others have also. I'm still scared stiff, but at least I don't feel like doing a Forrest Gump and just taking off running until I can't run any more. That's the way I felt at first. I've certainly learned a lot here. I can't believe how long this thread has gotten.

I just found out that if I postpone my surgery until after the first of the year, I'd get my full salary during my 6 weeks off. If I have it in December I get 60%. I didn't even know I got that. Our benefits just changed (and are changing again in January) due to a buy out. I thought all I got was 10 days sick leave. I told them no way am I postponing. 60% will do me fine considering I didn't think I was getting anything. I'd much rather be that princess on the couch recovering on Christmas than still a LIW agonizing over not knowing what I've even got going on inside me. Even if there was no possibility of cancer, I wouldn't postpone. Besides, DH would kill me. I think the waiting is even harder on him, and he's one of those stoic guys that doesn't say much. Three weeks from today, it will be "hystery"!

All the help and info you have received is great I can't add anything to all this great help . But on the lighter side!!!!!

If you want to be in a little control -- do as some of our Princess have done in the past. Apply a Happy Face sticker to your tummy or general area, for the Doctor to see, after they put you to sleep and get you on the table. At least it should make them smile!

Several have done this and the dr's and nurses loved it. Seems as if it is a way to make you feel better too. Last minute I did it myself and they didn't know about it.

Happy face sticker

Excellent idea, Colleen! I will definitely do that! My gyn is so serious. I haven't gotten her to laugh yet. I get my primary care physician to laugh all the time. Actually, sometimes when she laughs, I'm not trying to be funny! Hmmm...
