Chronic Fatigue Syndrome too?

My friend's mom has CFS. I saw an interesting report on 20/20 or Dateline or something like that a couple weeks ago. Apparently they've been doing tests and found that about 80% of people diagnosed w/ CFS also have a certain stomach virus (found through a tracheotomy test), apparently one that would normally clear up in a few days in normal cases but in those w/ CFS it's found to stay around which may contribute to the symptoms. Apparently they are testing an antibiotic on those patients and are having good results with it. Might be something to look into and do some more research. CFS can have such life changing effects the thought of there being an effective and easy cure is wonderful!

Chronic Fatigue Syndrome too?

I don't have CFS, but I do have Fibromyalgia. Some say they are related. I had been symptom free since my surgery (a week ago) but on Sunday my muscles started spasming again. Feeling like they want to stretch from head to toe. It's a horrendous feeling and rather painful right now. I started the muscle relaxers again, three or four times a day. I hope as I heal the spasms will go away too. Feeling pretty good today, I have visions of the mall - a nice change of scenery. We'll see how the day unfolds.

Chronic Fatigue Syndrome too?

Hi there,
I've had CFS and Fibro since long before my surgery. I know that surgery can be a trigger as can giving birth and stressful events in your life.
I found a wonderful Dr. for my fibro and CFS.
They are wonderful the only problem is they are pricey and they do not bill your insurance, you have to do it yourself.
I have never felt so good as when I was going to the Fibro and Fatigue center in MI.
I want desperately to go back but can't afford it right now.
Check into it on thier website. There is alot of info there and links for fibro and CFS.

Good luck and god bless.

Chronic Fatigue Syndrome too?

i have had CFS for over 5 years, but have improved greatly under the care of a specialist for the pasr two years. He felt that my overall health will improve with the surgery since I was battling pain most of the month due to adenomyosis. I do feel a lessening of fatigue eventhough i am not completely healed yet. I still have more post surgical pain than I think is normal, so maybe I'm healing more slowly because of the CFS. anyone else feel this? Good luck to you!

Chronic Fatigue Syndrome too?

Thanks for the info. I've had CFS for 15 years. I did have 1 yr of remission when I lived on the coast. My mom had just told me about the stomach thing. I'm gonna ck it out. Wouldn't it be just great if either a med or this surrgery would make us better? Let's hope to the proper degree. I do think we can probly expect a longer recovery from surgery too. Best to everyone.
