Weekend before storming the castle

So I finally made it, just a few days outside of surgery (I go Wed). The last 5-8 weeks of stressing, worrying, obsessing, is almost over. I feel as emotionally prepared as I think I can be. I know what to expect physically, had my pre-ops (no infections in my body anywhere, thank you Lord!!), have my magenisum stuff waiting on the counter for Tuesday, nice new nightgowns waiting for the hospital/home, a bed tray beside the bed, plans for everybody in the house to be taken care of, just waiting for that hard-to-find size of sports bra to come in the mail.

I've got laundry I have to do because it's piled up but I've decided I'm not going to kill myself this weekend getting ready. My energy level has been tapped for months, I had a bad stomach virus the beginning of the week (still can't eat quite back to normal) and killing myself with house work is just going to stress me out.

So I'm trying a different plan, I'm just going to relax and pamper myself a little this weekend. Maybe buy some chocolate covered peanuts (my fav) and watch a movie. So anybody with me??

Sounds like a great plan, you don't want to wear yourself out before your surgery, your body needs the strength for recovery.

I was so prepared for the hospital that the nurses were very impressed. I had my big girl panties (with pink poke-a-dots), new PJ's, my own pads, and ear plugs, lol, and yes I used them. I also bragged about hyster-sisters web site and all my sisters here that gave me such great advice.

Surgery went great and my LAVH/BSO recovery has been a breeze. So much better than what I had imagined.

Enjoy your last week of your pre-op time, shop and run as much as possible, because you do move a bit slower afterwards, but it really isn't so bad. It's all worth it to have a healthier life.

Good luck to you on you trip to the castle to become a princess, I'll be thinking about you

I'll be with you in spirit, I'm on liquid only diet at this point but would love some choc peanuts about now - can you have a couple of extra's for me?

I think I could handle that once my appetite comes back. I bought them today but haven't had any desire to open them yet. Dang virus!

I am feeling that too. I don't go until the 27th for LAVH for adenymosis too.
I kind of have the nesting feeling trying to get everything done before I go.
Good luck, I LOVE chocolate covered peanuts too!!!!!

Charlotte...it sounds like you have it ALL covered! (Even those peanuts!) HaHa!

Reading your post just stresses me out more because I had so much planned this weekend and have done squat!! My hubby is still recovering from ankle surgery and just like you said; my energy level has also been tapped for months now. Needless to say, nothing got done today. But there is always tomorrow. My surgery is next Monday so I do have another weekend yet to get all that stuff done. I just wish my nerves and all this stressing would go away yet it just seems to get worse. Maybe keeping myself busy next weekend will help...let's hope so!

I sure hope you get to feeling better soon from that tummy visus; that can't be fun at all. Here's to hoping you feel better than ever and get to enjoy all of those yummy peaunuts!! Have a relaxing weekend and best of luck on your trip to the castle...we are all with you and can't wait to hear how things went.

Weekend before storming the castle

Thanks my sisters (I don't have any sisters, it's nice finally having some

My new sports bra came! YEA!! It's pink and instead of that hold you in until you can't breathe, it's soft and comfy. <<yep, sad but true, I get excited for comfy fitting underwear! lol

I've been doing laundry a lot this weekend, did do some grocery shopping yesterday. I'm craving sweets but once I've made them, I still don't have the appetite!! Ironic huh?? lol

There's a new movie coming out Tuesday (the Strangers, looks spooky but a good one to cuddle up to hubby with), I told hubby I wanted to rent it for my last night at home before the castle.

I'll be glad when this is all over. My stomach feels likes it contacts hard (whole torso really) and then lets go, very uncomfortable to hurting feeling. That's suppossed to be one of the effects of the adenomyosis.

Weekend before storming the castle Reply to Thread

I can totally relate to having a plan of what I was going to do this weekend before the castle tomorrow and have done stupid stuff like spending two hours loading new pictures on my digital picture frame! LOL

So much for plans. I did finish setting up the room with the recliner and making the spare bed so DH can be near me : - ) Cleaning both bathrooms so that when we have guests.. they will be clean.

Not that any of that matters, but it kept me busy!

The hardest thing is not to have expectations about anything. It is one thing for me to plan, but a whole other to project the outcome!

Good luck guys..........
