Hi all, I'm pretty new around here. I have been reading quite a bit and learning tons, and I think it's about time to start participating!
It took me several months to get my surgery scheduled because my original doc left his practice so I had to find a new doc. After a long wait I finally met my new doc yesterday and I think I'm in love.
She was very nice and she "gets it" because she's been in the same boat herself.
I am scheduled to have a Da Vinci hysterectomy on May 17. From what I understand the robot is very popular among the doctors at the hospital so it's a longer wait, but I think it will be well worth it. I'm going to have to cycle 2 or maybe 3 times before my surgery date so my new doc gave me some meds for the pain, to get me through.
I have extremely painful periods and an unusual menstral flow. The docs believe I have adenomyosis and endometreosis. I've probably had endo since I was a teen and have been able to deal with the pain, but adding the adenomyosis on top of that has become too much and it has become debilitating. I'm looking forward to and end to this pain!
I'm only 37 (just had my bday) and would like to keep my overies but she said she might not be able to save them, so I'll be starting HRT after surgery (which I'm sure I'll have questions about, after I process all of this) but my first question is a simple one. For those of you who've had daVinci surgeries, how long was your stay at the castle?
Thanks so much for "listening."
Looking forward to getting to know y'all!
