Menopause - no ovaries!!

Hi girls

Been a while since I have posted, but am having some symptoms that I am not real happy about lol!!

Seem to be very vague at times these days, sometimes can't find a word for an object that I know or a name - no it is not Alzeimers Had that checked out - actually thought I was starting to loose my marbles lol!!

Also my energy levels seem to waiver, one day I feel great only to sink the next day and my libido has gone on a long holiday ugh!!

By the way a little history, I am 55 had a LAVH in Feb 2008 and ovaries taken as well. Have been on HRT patch Climara 75 since which seems to work well.

So my dear hystersisters does anyone else have these symptons - Dr seems to think everything is okay, and not many people want to discuss menopause symptons.

any help would be muchly appreciated

Kezza

Re: Menopause - no ovaries!!

Maybe your hormones need a bit of tweaking. It's not unusual to have to do some adjusting over time.

You can read more about hormones and the symptoms of imbalance in the articles at www.hormonejungle.com

Re: Menopause - no ovaries!!

It has been a long time since my hyst. I have been on and off premarin. I have had severe symptoms lately of "forgetting names of things, and fatigue". My GYN refuses to give me progesterone, or testosterone, because I have never been pregnant. He says I am high risk for breast cancer, and stroke. But this week I am going to a Holistic doc, who is also a pharmacist. He works with natural hormones. I hope he can help me. I am only 52, and feel 65 most of the time. Plus, I have severe muscle and joint pain, that started after my hyst.
I will let you know if he helps! God bless!

I don't have joint pain, but I do notice that my hands shake a little and sometimes they feel like they don't want to move at all. I am having my thyroid specialist look at this problem tomorrow, I am thinking it is either tyroid or HRT.

Re: Menopause - no ovaries!!

I know how you are feeling, SugarPlum55. I have most of the same symptoms that you describe. I am still in the process of balancing my hormones. I am 13 months out from my surgery. I am very discouraged with the way things are not progressing. My doc is great but, it takes so long for tweaking to take effect. Makes me regret ever having the surgery to start with.
