Re: Hysterectomy this week (6/25)
I had 2 days off before surgery and did all the cleaning and shopping those days.
I was a bit nervous the last 2 days before surgery but used some meditation exercises and faith to help with it.
Because I am on a medical leave I had to sign off my work to somebody else and was busy with those preparations as well.
I am on my 3 day post op total hysterectomy with both ovaries and although I am doing well force myself to take it easy.
What really helped me in the hospital was that I had a super long charger cable for my phone and I also needed a long charger cable for my ipad - highly recommend that because the outlets were not that close. I had some dry shampoo I used the day after surgery to fix my hair up and some wet wipes for a quick clean up, I did not want to use the hospital shower.
I needed a pillow for the ride back home in the car which was good 45 min.
Hope things go well for you!

Re: Hysterectomy this week (6/25)
Hi Bewitched,
I am on my 2nd day post op and I had a bladder sling also. I could not pee on my own at the hospital so they showed me how to self-catch. It wasn't fun, but I did it. My bladder finally decided to start working last night and since then things are going well. My pain is well controlled with Percocet every 4 hours and then ibuprofen every 6. Overall I would have to say that I feel much better then I thought I would. You will do fine.
