homemade tummy pillow

hi everyone,
I was thinking about ways to make my recovery very special and very
personal. So I went to the craft store today after work and bought a pillow
and some pretty material which I will cover the pillow with. Personal tummy
pillow! I hope everyone who are having surgery next week are planning on
doing something special this weekend. I am going to Tucson, AZ to visit
my husband's brother and his wife and kids and have some fun. Then work
on Monday, dinner out with my husband, and a nice bubble bath Monday
night. I have to be at the hospital at 9:30 am. It is really happening isn't it!
Thank you all for such wonderful, loving support. I am so blessed having
found this website. God is Good!!!
I hope those of you that had your surgery this week are doing well, healing
nicely. Love to all! Julie

All Right!

Way to go, Julie!

I just know that your recovery will be a positive one because you are going into it with such a great attitude!

Have a blast this week and weekend! I purposely scheduled mine for after my 35th birthday...so I could "go out" with a "shebang!"

Hugs

homemade tummy pillow

Hi, Julie Dee:

That's wonderful that you are taking such great care of yourself before your surgery. My surgery is on Oct. 2nd also. I plan a special night out tomorrow night with my fiancee - movies, miniature golf, the works. I'll spend quality time with my family and church members this weekend. I'll be "ready for business" next week.

A homemade tummy pillow is a great idea, a nice personal touch. I think I'll go to the store and buy plenty of flowers and candles for my bedroom, so that when I come back home, I can feel special. You're right -- God is Good!!!

Hi julie Dee

My surgery is also Oct. 2 and I am ready. I'm going out Saturday night for dinner-- was
told to eat light Sunday/monday whatever that means. I'm glad this
waiting is coming to an end. At work today I was presented with a pillow--Work at
a place that makes pants and the ladies at the back knew I needed a pillow and
today I got one (wash & wear Khaki)--it's perfect.

It has rained here all week, cold too--where was this rain when we needed it in the
summer? It better not be warm and sunny when I'm stuck at home in bed.

Wishing you good health & happiness.

Homemade Goodies

Hi Julie,
That's a wonderful idea. I myself enjoy crafts & sewing too. What I've done is made cards for the nursing staff & visitors when I go in the hospital Oct. 22. And yes you're so correct.. "God is Good",
and WE must pamper ouselves. I have purchased candles for my room when I arrive home... Good-Luck with your surgery & my prayers are with you... Enjoy your weekend!!!

Homemade Tummy Pillow

Hi Dec55,
That's great that your mom made the pillow for you. I feel the same way about having homemade things...It's such a great feeling & closeness, to have something very special. Good-Luck with your upcoming surgery. My prayers are with you...

Hi,
Several of you mentioned candles and such for your room. The strong scents of the candles may very well bother you the first couple of days you are home. I couldn't stand any type of smells at all including the candles (and I love candles). Don't be surpised if they bother you. Even now at almost 5 weeks I still notice fragrances.

Good Luck

Julie Dee,

Treat yourself like a Princess! I think it is a great concept, and I have plans before my big day October 22. I have scheduled a facial and a massage a couple of weeks before. We'll be waiting to hear your advice and comments when you're home. In the meantime, my prayers and positive thoughts go out to you.
