less than 48 hours to go

Hi all, I am a new pricess. Have been following this site for a few days and finally figured out how to post. So, here I am with less than 48 hours until surgery 3/4 AT about 7am. Very nervous. I am an RN with an OB/GYN speciality and you know what...it doesnt matter cause this time IM THE PATIENT. Having a LAVH taking the works. Very concerned about hormone replacement. Dont want to become the wicked witch of the west, but dont want to risk side effects as I am borderline hypertensive. Also, feeling a little sad about no more babies although Ive had my share (6). That really wasnt an option anyway because Ive reached 51, I just dont feel that old. Worried about skin changes and possibly speeding up the aging process by not having enough hormone. So...anyone with thoughts...please reply. And yes...the nurses love treats! Lore

I'm also 51 and just had a LAVH on 1/26 - everything went great. I'm taking Premarin and have had a couple of hot flashes still but my DR told me that might happen until he gets me regulated. As for skin, my skin has gotten very dry which I understand is normal. In fact, on the Home page of hyster sisters, there is a lot of discussion about dry skin that I've been reading.
