Dermoid cysts in the ovary

Hi,
this question is for my peace of mind. My 27 year old daughter has been diagnosed with dermoid cysts on both ovaries. One at 3cm , one at 4.5cm. Has anyone out there had similar removed? If so how has it affected fertility?
we are waiting for a gyneacologist appointment.

Hi I had the same surgery when I was 23. The incision is the same as the hysterectomy that I had and the recovery is pretty much the same also. At the time, I was trying to get pregnant, but could not. The dermoid cyst was discovered in May. On June 27, my one year anniversary I had the surgery. My Doctor told me that in six months I would be pregnant. Exactly 6 months later, I believe I conceived on New Year's Eve, I was pregnant. So I think the dermoid cyst in some way prevents pregnancy. Hopefully, if she is like I was she will be fine and pregnant before another year goes by. Good luck and God Bless
