what are risks now that the biopsy is back?

Hi,

Before my hyterectomy we thought I had simple hyperplasia. The biopsy revealed complex atypical hyperplasia with adenomyosis plus fibroids.
My cervix and ovaries are left. So are there any special concerns that I have ovaries and a cervix at this point? Besides the normal pap anything I should do or be worried about. If there are any articles that address this I would like to know how to find them.

What alphabets represent what I had? TAH keeping cervix and ovaries? No lap or interesting machines were used. Just a plain old scalpel 7 inches on my belly.

Mahalo to all of you for your encouragement and advice.

Thank you!

tiare,

You had a SAH, supracervical abdominal hysterectomy...

You can do research on the internet (Google or Ask Jeeves). I did extensive research after my diagnosis of complex endometrial hyperplasia w/atypia last year. My hyperplasia resolved itself with provera treatment - 10 mg a day for 10 days a month. Most of your searches will take you to endometrial cancer info, but you can weed through the info and get specifics on complex hyperplasia w/atypia.

My GYN also left my remaining right ovary and my cervix. My pathology also showed adenomyosis. My GYN is not concerned that I kept ovary and cervix. I honestly don't know if it is a health concern for you, since you had the complex hyperplasia w/atypia at the time of your hysterectomy.

Wishing you all the best. Feel free to send me a PM.
