I'm home!!!

I got home from the hospital yesterday and was so glad to sleep in my own bed. My surgery (LAH) went well and the hospital staff was wonderful. I felt pretty bad the afternoon and evening after surgery but with some good drugs (morpheine) I was kept comfortable. They wanted me to walk at about 10:00 pm but I was still too weak and woozy. They removed my catheter at midnight and then woke me up at 4:00 am to walk and try to go the bathroom. I couldn't believe how much better I felt at 4:00 am. I went to the bathroom with no problem and walked down the hall and back and felt pretty good. I was very tired so slept again until 7:00 am. Got up and walked again and felt good. I ate breakfast and then started feeling some pain so took some more pain meds. I was discharged at about 10:00 am. I think the worst part now is the gas pain but I am drinking lots of water and taking GasX which seems to help a little. I've been up for a bout an hour and am pretty tired so need to go rest for awhile. Overall it has been a very positive experience.

Glad your home, now take it easy . That gas can be painful the best way to get rid of it is to walk it out ( around house of course). You know we are here for you.
