8 weeks post-op & hurting again

And I'm hurting again. I had total abdominal hyst (abdominal due to adhesions from a previous c-section), with rectocele (large) and cystocele (minor) repair, and a bladder sling put in. My surgeon was an ob/gyn doc, and she didn't even do a pelvic exam at my 6 week check-up or ever take a urine sample. I had to go in at 2 weeks with an infection of the vaginal incision. Back at 3 weeks and was healing okay.
I don't really feel comfortable with this dr. and my family doc recently left and insurance has assigned me someone else. Rotten time to change docs.
Anyway, I've had sex 2x, and the first was less painful than I feared, but the second time hurt more, and now I have a lot of pain. It's an achy pain, kind of like when you're coming down with the flu, but only vaginally and abdominally. I know I need to see a doctor, but who? I'm just writing for some encouragement, I guess...

You poor thing. Can you call your insurance and see about using a different doctor? You know, you could even go to the emergency room and get seen there. You would be amazed at the wonderful doctors that they have on call there. Your insurance covers emergeny room visits correct? Heck the doctor you meet there might be able to refer you to a really great that your insurance accepts.

I would lay off of the nookie for a while. With the sling and all, your healing time might take longer than others. I would lay off of alot of work too. Take it easy, you need to take are of your body. I hope you feel better real soon. Take care.

hey otrame!! just to let you know i am having the same symptoms.Except i bleed after sex and this was friday and i am still have achy pain it even hurts to sit right down. We had our surgery the same day and I just think i should be healed better than this. Dont let those insurance companies stand in your way.I would go to the E.R.And let them know that you are not comfortable with your DR.And you should be checked out.It is usually that the GYN on call is alot of times better one than the one you have.Just hope your doc isnt the one on call.i am waiting till Monday to call mine.I dont think this is normal either.I woke up this am and took my temp.I feel soo feverish but it was normal temp.Good luck and let me know how you made out if you go.Dont hum and haw it just go.Piece of mind is better Cyndi

hi otrane. call your local hospital and ask what gyn mds they have on staff. then check with ur ins co to make sure u are covered. i agree the er is an option too. if you go there, ask to see the gyn on call. also ask friends and neighbors about their docs. word of mouth is always the best.good luck and keep us updated

thanks for the encouragement. I think I'll go see my new family doc (he's actually the one my kids see) and TALK to him. I don't want to have a male doc do a vag exam, but maybe he can help me either find another doc, or something. Anyway, it has helped to come here and find encouragement... thanks again, c
