Long one---No energy or motivation/bf impatient...help!
I'm at my 8 wk mark today! I feel great except I have no energy or motivation to do anything. I hate getting up and getting out of bed to go anywhere or even work. I have to work though so I get there and I just feel blah. My co-workers don't understand. My boss doesn't understand. My bf doesn't understand. I started going back to college last September and my first quarter went great...all A's and Principal's List but this quarter, I've missed some classes and am behind on my assignments and stayed home from class last night to do a project I forgot was due tonight. About the work thing again...I've missed a few days already. I went back to work on Jan. 26 (part time til Feb 9). I'm just not excited about anything.
Another thing that's bothering me...my bf seems to be getting impatient with me...with the sex thing. He knew I couldn't have sex until today but he wanted me to be good to him. I didn't want to do that if I wasn't getting something out of it. Am I wrong for saying that? Honestly, I wasn't ever in the mood anyway. I have the green light as of today but I'm scared and just not ready. He actually said to me, "How long are you going to use your surgery as a crutch?" He just doesn't understand what I'm going through. He's a great guy too! He treats me like a queen. I know it's been awhile (since Oct) but come on.

Long one---No energy or motivation/bf impatient...help!
Hi
Your surgery really was not that long ago. Did you see your doctor today? Did you discuss how you feel with him? You went back to work at 4 weeks and full time at 6 weeks, plus school. That is a lot of activity no wonder you have no energy to be excited by everything.
Hang in there, I hope you feel better soon

I'm sorry you are going through this. I am at the 4 wk mark, but I have found that sitting around resting can become addictive. I get to slow down my life and that has been nice in many ways. That being said, the rest of my family is still moving at warp speed and everyone wants me to get better and back to work. Especially my dh!
If your bf has been waiting since Oct for sex he is frustrated. I can say this because my dh is carrying on about his lack of sex. I think they can't help themselves, it's not the same as it is for us, for them it is a need. That said I haven't made any moves to help him out yet, I haven't felt up to it yet.
I can understand it's hard to get back into things for you, I really can. Regarding sex maybe you can do some things for yourself that will put you in the mood? I don't know a little pampering and sexy clothes, perfume, nice massage by your bf, just a few ideas.
Take care and ease back into things, but definitely back into things!

I am sorry you are so exhausted but listening to your schedule, maybe you are expecting too much of yourself. Perhaps you could have taken a semester off of school or continued on part time a little longer at work.
As for the intimacy with you bf, I am sure he is frustrated. My DH is a very patient man and has been great. But he too, is ready and I still have 2 more weeks. We have started showering together again, yes it isn't very intimate, but it seems to give enough skin to skin contact by soaping each other up that he is less tense.
I really think you should mention these feelings to your doctor, maybe it is a lack of estrogen, I have heard that it sometimes takes a while for you ovary that is left behind to wake back up.
I hope you feel better soon.

Hi Monie1170,
Wow- I just wrote this exact post myself. I obviously can't offer any advice to you, since I feel like a mess myself.
My dh is starting to get that way too, especially since my dr. added a few more weeks to my abstinence. But dh has been really good about it, telling me that we have to wait until I am completely better. Wow- that might be months!!! LOL
I have thought about maybe helping him out, but I'm scared as to what would happen to me if I get excited. It's only a few months out of their lives, and really- imagine if they were the ones that had all of their plumbing removed and rearranged? I doubt that they would feel like doing anything with it right now! Well, who knows- they're men!
hang in there... I'm hanging with ya!

What we all seem to forget is initial healing is 6-8 weeks but total healing is 6-12 months :-(
I hit 6 months just over a week ago and feel so much better but I honestly didn't expect it to take this long.
