8-9 weeks major depression

Hugsssssssssss Mousetop!!

You did'nt mention if by chance they have checked your thyroid? your hormone levels can cause an issue with your thyroid as well.. please try and be open with your doctor, she cannot truly help you if she is'nt aware of the problems. If your afraid that she won't understand could you possiably take your husband to the appointment with you to help you explain?

8-9 weeks major depression

I'm going through the same thing! I am taking prozac 30 mg and taking with the new hormone estrogen. My doctor told me the estrogen depletes the prozac in the liver, so now I take the estrogen at night and the prozac in the morning, not sure if you are taking at the same time. I'm doing better since I changed, well I did increase the prozac another 10 mg!

8-9 weeks major depression

Hi Mousetop! I don't know how helpful I can be, as I have been pretty blessed with good mental health (except that severe depression while I was flunking out of college...)

My husband had severe depression that came from his own brain chemistry (and not a temporary event, like mine) and I agree with Gail that he needed to take antidepressants and they really helped him. He also joined a church during this time - I don't think he is a very spiritual person but the social bonds he has formed as a member of a committee have helped him.

I am 9 weeks post op today and can't believe how fuzzy headed I feel. The night after the surgery I thought I was 100% mentally but I keep discovering dumb mistakes I've made, and people keep interrupting me to say, "yes, you already told me that." I was starting to get worried that I was somehow a little braindamaged, but the receptionist at my DR's office said it takes months to get back to normal - she was very reassuring!

I hope you feel better soon, -- I'll be thinking of you!
Merrie
