1 week post hysterectomy: Tummy support - when should I wear it?

My full hysterectomy was on the 28th of Jan and my neighbor brought me a tummy belt. When should I wear it?

An abdominal binder? Ive been wearing mine since day 1. My Dr said I can sleep in it or not. It helps provide support so I dont feel like my organs are going to spill out. It holds me in, the support feels like its easier to walk, get up. I dont sleep in it. Holds bloating in. I wear a tank top & put it over tank top, then wear a shirt over. I put it on low a few inches below incision, then i pull it up so my belly is flattened upward not down over incision.
