I'm calling it: I have post surgery blues

I'm not shocked since I also had post partum depression years ago. I have both ovaries, and I know it's not hormonal. It need not be, it's a reaction to the continous aches and limitations, doubts and fears.

Funny thing, it's not so much that I no longer enjoy the activities I used to ,but more like I can't even do any of those activities! Swimmming hurts too much, cycling is out of the question. I have no appetite, thus no desire to cook. Can't work in my garden. Can't run and chase after my 6 year old for fun.

I used to find work invigorating, now I mostly find it stressful.
I weep many times a day, I'm great at feeling sorry for myself.

I am even crazy enough to feel regrets, yet, I had this surgery to rid myself of insitu cervical cancer. Hmmm...someone needs a perspective change, huh?

As a single mom with no parents, and no family in town, I have prided myself on my self-reliance and strength. Time to humble down a bit, huh? I do believe i'll come out better in terms of character in the long run, but oh....I am feeling glum right now in the present.

So sorry you are feeling ths way. Even with your ovaries you may have menopausal syptoms, Your ovaries can be shocked by the surgery and not work as well. Please call your doctor and see what he/she has to say about this.

Re: I'm calling it: I have post surgery blues

Thank you SistertoThree!
I have my appointment tomorrow. At my 4 week she said my ovaries might be shocked. But I know my body so very well and have a long history of hormonal sensitivities. When my issues are hormonal, the are far worse, I don't sleep, I have panic attacks in waves, I have no desire to even get out of bed...oh it's much worse then.

I think this is just me reacting to my new reality.

Another clue that hormones are being excreted (get ready to laugh): Through out my life I would be nose bleeds right before menstruating. I got a nosebleed right before surgery, and then a couple more 4 weeks later. So I think ladies estrogen and progesterone are working. :-)
