Upcoming hysterectomy 12/15: Shopping! Only 3 Days Left!
This is just a silly post, but I wanted to share.
Hubby and I went to the store to get some things I'll need for recovery. The hospital called for my pre-surgical questionnaire, and I found out I had to get some hibiclens, so I decided to get most of what I needed since I was out anyway. I found a nice little travel pillow that will work perfectly for the car ride home. The store had body pillows, but if I use that, there will be no room for me, LOL. I also got Gas-X, prunes, prune juice, Smooth Move tea with peppermint, and flushable wipes.
Can you tell that I've been reading the post-op recovery reports? I'm going into this prepared to poop! We already had the Colace from a previous shopping trip.
I can only imagine what the cashier thought about our purchases.
I hope all my sisters having surgery this week are doing well. Sometimes I wish the pre-op chat thread lasted longer.

Sounds like you are all ready. A squatty potty really helps with bowel movements. It eliminates the urge to strain. If you can't get a squatty potty prior to surgery you can also get a small stool. I pray you have a successful surgery and easy recovery.

Re: Shopping! Only 3 Days Left!
We were looking for peppermint tea, and I saw the Smooth Move tea, and right next to it was the Smooth Move tea with Peppermint. Kind of killing two birds with one stone, so I had to get it.
Good luck tomorrow! I'll be sending mojo for an easy surgery and recovery.

While you're out shopping, don't forget to pick up a few pairs of comfy pants with expandable waistbands. To get your bowels moving, I would also recommend a good pair of walking shoes, magnesium-rich pumpkin seeds and dark chocolate, ground flaxseeds, and frozen cherries. Also look for a good probiotic supplement, or some live culture yogurt, to restore the normal balance of bacteria inside your intestinal tract. Also look for some adult colouring books, to help to occupy your time during your recovery. Best wishes for a successful surgery and a smooth recovery!
