One day left still searching TAH and or BSO
I too have right side ovary pain I have suffered with for 8 years now. Irreg. cycles and awful mood swings and headache my entire life. Went through several depression meds. to cope with symptoms. Some work for awhile only to keep upping dose. Others did nothing to help. Did the ablation (electrical ball current)2 years ago. Very light periods now. Only have to use thin maxi. However still have cramping 3 weeks of month. It's as if my body says ok period time for one week just pms and cramping for another week and oh spotting again for another week with headache breast tender and all above below pain too. Still have right side ovary pain which doubles me over and I don't move till it subsides. Also pulls at me hard on ovary right side with pain when I get up quickly. Had all scar tissue adhesions removed from 3 C sects when ablation was done. Now Dr. says hysterectomy seems to be the answer. However it won't take away PMS, horrible, and won't stop ovary pains. Hyst will only take spotting and light periods away and the constant uterine cramping away. Won't even help the severe lower back pain that all goes with it. Now says let's get rid of both ovaries and uterus so I can have steady dose of hormones every month with out all the fuss or flucuations of ovaries. Hormones other than my own are scary to read about! I thought maybe just removing the painful right ovary might be the best solution for me after I searched the internet. Then just find some heavy dose ibprofen or naproxen for the constant uterine cramping and take it every 3 weeks out of the month. However I guess I would still have the mood swings and other PMS symptoms unsolved or untreated. I am 36 years old and DO NOT want to go through menopause my relatives are already going through that with things i think are even more horrible to deal with. I don't want to make the wrong decision and hoping for greener pastures but actually just be trading for worse problems in the end. Any clue or experiences you have found will be generously welcomed. Big surgery big time scared! Surgery scheduled this Friday.
