TT after hernia surg/during Vag Hyst??

TT after hernia surg/during Vag Hyst?

In 1999 I had gastric bypass surgery and have gone from 300 to 186. In 2000 I
had multiple incisional hernias repaired (gortex mesh). I have to have a
hysterectomy (vaginal prolapse ut with several other repairs) done, (scheduled for 9/12/01).

Wondering if

a.) Can they even do a tt with the gortex that is in there from the hernia
repair? Does that have any bearing?

b.) Would a Dr. consider doing it at the same time as my vaginal hysterectomy?
(would be nice to have only one recovery and one surgery) Or would that be to
much surgery for a body to take

c.) I am still like 50 lbs from my goal weight, but would really like to have this
done NOW. Will they do it if you are still 50 lbs overweight.

d.) What are some of the "keys" to getting insurance to pay.

I'll try and answer some of your questions. Hopefully someone will come along with answers to the others

I'm sorry, I don't have experience with a Tummy Tucky or hernia repair. However, you can try and do a "search" (that's one of the small buttons at the top of the Hyster Sisters message board) on "hernia". You might find some of the answers you're looking for. If you haven't done so already, you can ask your doctor, who is most likely to have the answers regarding your own condition.

While I didn't have this surgery done, I know that others have. If you do a "search" on "tummy tuck", you'll see that this subject comes back regularly.
