spotting 3 weeks post op

I am 3 weeks post op and this morning noticed blood on toilet paper. Is it possible to spot when the stitches from vaginal cuff start dissolving? Or could it be something else?

Need some advice am a bit scared and confused

Re: spotting 3 weeks post op

Yes, dissolving stitches can result in some spotting.
It's very normal to see spotting and minor bleeding for several weeks post op, so mention it to your doc at your next appt but unless the bleeding become heavy or you develop symptoms like fever, serious nausea (some minor nausea seems to be very common) or other signs of infection or injury, it's nothing worrisome.

Re: spotting 3 weeks post op

Is the "hot and sweaty" happening in bursts? Like one minute you're fine and the next minute you feel like you're in a sauna?
If so, it's hot flashes... Sorry and welcome to the wonderful world of menopause. Nausea can also be a feature of the abrupt loss of hormones (or a side effect of the antibiotics).... have you spoken to your gyn about hormone therapy or other treatment for menopause symptoms?

If that description did not resonate with you, please start taking your temperature every hour or so and call your doc if it's over 100 degrees for over 3 hours. Fever accompanied by nausea is not a good thing... could be nothing but it should be checked.

Everyone's experience with pain is a bit different but you did just have major surgery so it's not odd at all that you're still having pain... is it easily managed with meds, icepacks and rest? If yes, don't worry about it, it's just part of healing and will pass.... if the pain is not manageable, you should speak with your doc.
